Criminology: Health, Crime & Justice

Course meets Mondays and Wednesdays beginning January 18th and ending May 14th (16 weeks total). 

Meeting times are 1:00 p.m.-2:20 p.m.

This course focuses on the intersection of crime, criminal justice institutions, and health. We will address the ways in which health is affected by (and affects) violence and victimization, as well as the ways in which police, criminal courts, and correctional facilities deal with health issues. The course is interdisciplinary and includes perspectives from sociologists, criminologists, physicians, biologists, and public health experts. Those interested in criminal justice administration, supporting victims of crime, and public health are welcome.

After completing the registration process on this site, you will also need to submit a Non-Degree-Seeking Application. This additional step allows us to create your student ID and provide you with access to campus resources.

When completing the application:

1.     Select “Audit for Enrichment.”

2.     When prompted with additional questions, select “Undergraduate Course.”

3.     Enter “January 2027” as your start date.

Once your application is submitted, we can finalize your access and get you ready for your course!
